Following the armistice that ended the Third World War, the territorial agreements that emerged laid the foundation for a new global order: the Reunified Nations (N.R.). What began as a coalition of necessity soon evolved into a monolithic entity, consolidating power under the guise of a "utopian peace." The early years saw a shared governance model, but as time passed, Harkan Varlo systematically dismantled all opposition, securing absolute control and transforming the N.R. into an authoritarian superpower.
Varlo’s reign is defined by meticulous population control policies, merging military, political, and economic power into an iron-fisted regime. Through a cybercratic and anthroparchic system, he ensures complete surveillance over every aspect of life. A vast propaganda machine infiltrates education, scientific institutions, and the ruling elite, solidifying his grip on the world. The global economy is restructured into an energy dictatorship, where the few prosper while the majority are subjugated under engineered social stratification. The N.R. thrives on exploitation, corporate supremacy, and the erosion of national identities, ensuring that no government operates outside its reach.
As environmental upheavals reshape the planet, the Antarctic continent, now habitable and resource-rich, becomes the last great geopolitical frontier. But with its emergence comes a new existential threat: the Therianthropes. Their presence is seen as an affront to Varlo’s doctrine of absolute human dominion, and thus, the Legio Invictus, the N.R.'s elite military force, is mobilized for a global purge. War is inevitable.
Under the banner of the Reunified Nations, the world may still claim political independence, but in reality, every nation, every institution, and every voice is subject to the absolute rule of Harkan Varlo. Dissent is crushed before it begins, and rebellion is met with swift and merciless eradication. The world stands at the precipice, torn between submission and the hope of something beyond Varlo’s unyielding grasp.
The war for survival is no longer between nations. It is between species.
